Identity theft is the unlawful use of another person’s identification. Various banks in the Acadiana area have seen a recent increase in the number of customer checks being duplicated where the bank’s routing number and the customer’s account number are used to create a check.
In an effort to assist our customers stop these activities and to protect account information from thieves and unauthorized users, please consider the following:
- Report any unusual POS/ACH activity you see on your account. If you see a $.02 charge, please call us. This is the first attempted transaction on your account to ensure they have a valid account number.
- Use the Online Banking service to view your account transactions often. Are there any checks written that are out of check number sequence or appear to be altered from the original amount?
- Enroll in our Notifi service. For more information on this service, please visit our Notifi page.
