On January 5, 1943 a stockholders meeting was held at Stamm Scheele in Rayne, Louisiana, where the name Rayne State Bank & Trust Company, Inc. was selected. In that meeting B.N. Sweeney, John V. Raymond, and Clyde Leger were named to choose a site for the bank’s first proposed offices. On July 1st of that same year, over 1000 people attended the Grand Opening of Rayne State Bank & Trust Company’s first branch in Rayne, Louisiana.
